Looking for an apocalyptic effect on pictures..
(First if this isn't the right forum, move it please, but I really can't find a help thread for general effects or whatever)
--
I need help making kind of an, eh, apocalyptic effect, for some pictures Im working with, I need kind of an ice and fire end of the world like thing. Like Ice covered everything, or fire ingulfed everything, vice versa.

eh well thats gonna be hard if your a total noob at photoshop or drawing in general... unless you dont care about the results too much... its mostly going to be trial and error...
somthing like that would be you drawing over an image... nothing can automatically do that for you.. theres no... effect that you can create using a program....
so really your only left to drawing it or using other photos and merging them into your image

Maybe I said it wrong, Im looking for an effect, that can apply to the image a certain fire or ice like effect. Like, for instance, using a picture with visible sky in the background, selecting it, and changing it to a firey like explosion sky or ice rain like effect sky, Im pretty sure it's possible.

try doing render > clouds with a blue sky... then invert colors (CTRL I), it may give a sorta firey sky look
