I think the background ruins this, you could have done better with choosing the colors IMO.
And the part where u mixed the simple shapes with the shapeless stuff doesnt work very well.
Is this just random or did you have something in mind when making this?
Btw, i liked the other one you posted.

Agree with dragoneye.
The whole thing is very unbalanced, since the purple stuff is much stronger than the blurry thing to the right. Also, the use of negative space is a little weird.

But keep trying! Hehu.

It was pretty much just random, in my webdesign class.
I'm trying to work a style of vectors mixing with non vector/shapeless things.
Suggestions for the backgronud?

Cool concept, but the colors aren't good as others said. For the bg try black, light grey, a reddish orange, or a more yellowish color. Cycle through every color with hue/saturation + colorize if you need to, but I think a warm but dull color would suit it best.

If i'm honest, it looks more like lazy then abstract. There's not alot in it, maybe you were going for simplistic approach, but it doesn't even seem that, placement looks weird, and the shapes don't work together, in my opinion anyways. Try, try again, and you'll succeed at last. ~Jimmy cliff

hey, if you ideas, i always goto Character Map (in Windows) for ideas, and look in Wingdings font or something, it really gets me going sometimes, and some of those "letters" would really lend itself to your pic here (and the other one). crap, there goes my secret...
