realism stuff
yeah, so been trying some more realism stuff so i can work up a real portolio. i dont have a scanner anymore so the quality and colour is crap and it distorts it a bit, so bare with me.
graphite pencils:
charcoal pencils:
this one is acctually a sweater and scarf draped over a chair

Looks pretty good! :] But you might want to use smaller pencils to achieve more detail. The teddybear could need som fur for example.
But keep it up, realism isn't the easiest thing..

Nice, good attention to detail on teh bear Also... again, scan at a higher resolution to get the blacks black, and then resize it down The 2nd one has black though
Keep it up, it's hard.. takes fuc*ing ages!

she said she doesn't have scanner!!! D:
good though.. and yeah rabies has like hit it right on the head.. use smaller pencils and then large ones for shading and such.. i hated my art teacher in highschool, "use 2B!!! nothing else, you won't do good art without a 2B" .. =/ gayyy

thanks everyone
i used to use my boyfriends crap scanner, but i havent been there lately so i had to take a pic.
@rabies, the bear didnt have any fur, its like, porcelin or something, by smaller pencils im guessing you mean harder ones? like the h's? well, i used an hb, 4, 5, and 6 B. tbh, i prefer the softer pencils, easier to add contrast and easier to manipulate after putting it on the page.
@ deadloader, i think thats what i did do, used hb for outline, then the other 3 for the shading. and your teacher is a knob, thats why i wont change school acctually, cuz right now i have a good teacher and i risk getting a crappy teacher :P
