I think that only about 10 (or less) people on this fourm have paid for their version of photoshop, I don't see how adobe makes any money while everyone' is getting their stuff for free. I think they make all thier money from selling photoshop to schools/companies because they are the only real customers. lol

I guess Adobe gets their Photoshop money from companies, schools, professionals and amateurs (Photoshop Elements). I'm using a legal version of CS though.
Is it worth trying out CS3? I mean, I won't buy it.. And I'm so comfortable with my CS (Swedish version), so I'm not sure.. :/

I have a friend who got CS3.. He says it's really good, an improvement according to him.
No one knows how Adobe gets their money. They're really into the whole 'mysterious' thing -shifty eyes-

£400 for a program, somehow i think i have an idea where they get money haha
They also own macromedia and probably other companies to.
And schools etc. are not the only buyers, anyone who uses it for a job will need a legal version. And think of all the artists that use it out there, times that by £400, think how many copies schools will need, x £400. And that is only the money off Photoshop never mind macromedia etc.

AND. Photoshop isn't their only programme.
They own acrobat, which almost everyone has on their pc. And just look at the downloads / trials / programmes page on their site. It's a huge list
