Imo it boils down to there being no evidence the Gods people believe in are real, and there is also no evidence that they aren't.
But that doesn't leave much to debate about, either.. How not fun. >=(

There could have been evidence against either opinion, right now however, there is absolutely none.
And if there ever is somehow pure reason that no one can deny, it wouldn't help anyone.
