Prg's Full metal sig tut

Ok do you know how to use the pen tool? if you do make a shape just liek the one i show u in step 2.


if you do not know how to use the pen tool do this: Take out your eliptical Marquee tool. Form a circle, while holding shift, about the same height as the shape i have now fill teh circle with any color. Now you can deselect. Now duplicate teh circle and put one on the left side, and one on the right. Now take your rectangular marquee tool and make a rectangle in between the two circles filling up all the middle, be sure to make it the same height as teh circles. now fill it on a separate layer. Now position all of them together so they look like this



You may have to move the alyers around a bit to get that. Now select the top layer and hit Ctrl- E to merge the top 2 layers together. then hit it again to merge them all together into one layer. Now just move it to the side like i did in Step 2.

uhh.... or you could just use the rounded rectangle tool with a radius of... for that I guess it'd be around 100px.

U might be able to i havent tried it that way, thats just the way i learned how to make that.

skipped a few steps here and there. some parts were pointless and did nothing i.e.

on the first one, it's black but on screen, so it doesn't do anything. and on the second, the opacity is zero, so.

overall it's a good tutorial, but i don't like the over reliance on layer styles; after doing this i don't feel like i learned anything besides copying some settings. still, not bad. maybe have a quick how-to for the pen tool for those that don't know.

Thank you very much for going the full way through! Some of the settings were pointless, you are right. But i couldn't stand going through all of em and figuring out which helped and witch idnt help. A lot of metal sigs is styles, but there is mroe like lighting which i don't think i used in this sig, and just creativity with interfaces, but i understand what you are saying. id give a pen tool tut but im not that great at using it yet. Maybe when i get betteer i will make one.

It's not letting me Selet>Modify>Expand... I can get to the Select but its not letting me Modify. You know why??
