What the hell is this thing?

so i found this thing in the stuff that was being thrown out when my school's theatre department was cleaning out it's prop room. the box is pretty cool the way it unfolds, but i have no idea what it is.

a virtual cookie to whoever can tell me what it is. two cookies if you can give me some proof.

Looks scary...looks like some kind of torture device carrying box. I'm baffled by it...just make sure if some dead 18th century dude comes knocking on your door that you give him the box because thats probably what he wants.

i was thinking sewing too, because of the needles with squared tops.

as for logos, there's one on the top, but it's extremly worn down, and i can't read it. it looks like your standard oval with some words in it, which is why i didn't bother mentioning it in my origional post.

the only other thing is that those weird things in the third picture have numbers on the in order of size.
