hi guys, i'm just new here...

anyway, i was just wondering if you could help me out... i'm doin an artwork of an angel, and i'd want to give it the effect of rays of light brightly shining down on her... plus rays of light swirling around her, and a little 'fairy dust' thing here and there... i guess you guys know what i mean...

what kind of brushes should i use? i tried d-loading some abstract brushes but they don't seem to give me what i want to see... thanks a lot guys!

This tutorial will show you how to make beams of light (among other things): http://www.deviantart.com/deviation/13239124/

Swirls of white can be made using distortion filters.

Oh, for sparkles, I recommend downloading space brushes. The starfields can look like nice sparkles.
