Sorry for posting alot in here. But Im new to photoshop and I need to know why when i render something on a transparent background, I save it as a psd or jpeg w.e it doesn't come out on a transparent background when I open it up. It comes out in white. Please help.

Well if you save it as a .psd then it should have a transparent background (if you don't merge it down). And save as a .png or .tga as they also give transparent backgrounds. .gifs do as well, but they are very often choppy and don't support partial transparency.

.png is best for transparent (imo)

.jpg/.jpeg doesn't save with transparent background :P
I typically go with .tga, but thats because I usually use it for compositing 3d into another image and a targa (.tga) allows for an alpha split just in case i need another way to select the part of the image I want.
Like Jakska said, .gif (not recommended), .png (good if you want to bring an image with transparent background into flash. Use the interlaced option, a little bigger filesize, but better quality), and .tga (as I've said, good for use in 3d programs) all save with transparent background. A .psd should also save with a transparent background if you don't merge your layers together (assuming you have a background layer and at least one layer with transparent background on top of it).
