lowers the iso settings on your camera for color photos, they have no color. lower iso will take longer, but they will give the photos so much color. 2nd thing, lose the flash man, it destroys any pictures, flash=satan.

Bird house 2: not a horrible exposure, but try to get out of the angle of just taking a picture of it, try to get something more. Get out of the box.

Tree: has a very interesting angle, but has no color, iso iso iso. And lower that aperature.

Water: For photography, I actually HATE this photo. The flash kills anything that you could have had, there's too much going on, it's really distracting. Just look at that white spot, it's horrendous. Revisit this spot, and take another, NO FLASH.

No idea: revisit this one, except get all the shit out from around it. It's very distracting, just get it with some green unfocused foliage in the back ground, and nothing around it. Good angle though.

water pump: Iso iso iso, iso. That's really all, it just needs more color, try a different angle too, experiment with the settings on that 700$ camera of yours. Not horrible though.

overall, you are really improving. check out my journal:

you'll see some of the best photographers dA has to offer. Just look at how they take the photos, you will learn so much!

Thank you for your critism silenced.

Just one thing though, I make them black and white in Photoshop, they've got plenty of colour on the real images. Just looks better this way I think.

personally, I don't think you should desaturate in photoshop. Try TAKING the picture in black and white, it'll really question how you want that picture take and the perspective.
You're lucky because you have a digital, so things are easier, try all this with a film camera XD. It's taken me over a year to get decent photos. I'm going to submit some this weekend.
Just always question how you do things, and don't be afraid to try some random function on that camera to see what happens.

    and no problem.

o, just understood your reply. Black and white is very interesting, and I agree it really can look better. Color IS a lot harder in my opinion, so I'm just trying to help you along with some tips that it's taken me a year to find out about/figure out myself. Good luck, and happy shutters.
