I actually like the result, the only thing that I can really complain about is the text, but everyone has trouble with the text so I wouldn’t worry about that too much.

i just duplicate the layer, add gaussian blur of about 4px then set the layer style to overlay, or soft light.

It looks really nice, but i think a v3 with a contrast level between the two that you already have. the first doesnt have enough and the second has a little too much. good sig though i like it.
