Okay, so I have a question... I'm new to the whole PS layout scene, and I've tried to do a few, but they always are basically the same. to see what I mean, check out
Personal Page for School or Digital Expanse
As you can see, it's a layout, with an I-frame that houses my content, and it's centered on the page. How do I make one that takes up the WHOLE page? Cuz I want to do a portfolio page and I don't want the content area to be all small like that...
Can ANYONE help me please? If you want, hit my up on AIM : guitarmaster911 . Any help or a shove in the right direction would be deeply appreciated...
Sincerely,
Jeremy Dawson

You have to learn html bro. People don't just create awesome websites in photoshop and throw them onto the web in html/jpeg contant with some hyperlinks, thats not how its done. I suggest you buy.. "BUY" yourself a copy of dreamweaver, and then learn about tables and how to put your design from photoshop into your html/php/css (whatever) document. on the case of making it fill up the whole screen it dpeands on resolution. For instance if you make it with a pixal width of say 750, it will look HUGE on someones shitty 15" but tiny as hell one someones 21" flat screen with some intensely massive resolution that needs a damn 6800ultra or 850xt pro to run. (sorry got carried away, i want a 21" :'()
OK so, you have to learn about html coding, then learn about tables and variables. Because if you learn variables you can make your site so that on EVERYONES computer it seems the same size. This way, you can make it in 750 width, 1100 (if you have a tank screen) or even up to 2000- 3000 (if you have a dual monitor set up... and are more rich then i :'() so BASICLY, learn html, learn how to script php, once you do that, your a web designer (i do freelance web design work) and then you can make money out of it!
[edit] btw i hate those "lets look super with cool flashy blending options" set into our buttons and stuff, type of websites. Honestly, the best website as far as i can tell, is a good layout, with easy to see text, something that is smooth, and something that can be coded and changed easily. for instance this is what i would say is a VERY professional website, http://www.yvm.com.au/

I know HTML... that's what I'm in school for is web design. but I was just wondering if I should be making like my header one image, my nav bar another, and then putting them in tables. Or should it be one image, and then I'd slice it. Cuz that's how I did the two examples that I showed... I just wondered if there was something I was over looking, that's all... Thank you for taking your time to comment. I really appreciate it.
And as a side note, I have a flat screen 21"... and my brother's got one too, and then he's got his old 17" hooked up as well... it's freakin' sweet...

Hahahaha ,thats intense, wish i had some pimping screens. Um, i dunno, i slice alot of my pages, then implement them into my code. When i do it, i create a new layer in photo shop for EVERY single thing that i do, new layer for background, new layer for a tiny line thats 3pixals thick, every single thing on my page is layered correctly. Thing that most people lose out on in photoshop is their lack of knowledge when it comes to layers. i would give you a tutorial on my latest website, but the company i made it for hasn't accepted it. So that means if i posted it someone could take it, edit it, and sell it to them for more money :P. So once they have finalized it, i will edit it up, and show you how i made it, but i will not put any names and stuff on it so nobody knows what the company is.

do you mean like expanding content boxes? You can find tutoriols for those all over pixel2life.com or if you really need any help IM on MSN or AIM and I'll give you some help if I'm online.

To make expanding tablses/images, you need to use %s instead of exact pixel measurements I don't think anyone stated that before me.
