indeed. well said jack

in addition to static's post, i think other accomplishments are:

beginning of a government in iraq based on their own choices, not of that of a dictator

a trusting relationship that will become less dependant with time between that of iraq and the US

creating a safer environment (progressively) for the iraqi people, slowly eliminating terrorist regimes.

also, i do not think it is propoganda to "boast" about killing the most wanted terrorist in the world. it is a great thing that this man is not able to hurt any more people. in case you didn't know, though i'm sure you were and you were just trying to make a point ouit of nothing, this man was one of those heading the 9/11 attack, as well as dozens of other terrorist acts in his days. propoganda for eliminating him and celebrating the end of his reign of terror? hardly.

That's not propoganda Jack that's the truth, and hiding the fact that their dying would be an insult to them and their families.
indeed it would be wrong to hide the death count of the soldiers in iraq. i know what jack was getting at, and it was that the press does not often show the lighter sides of war, but rather it takes deeper digging to find it. i for one know that there are great things being done in iraq, via pictures, testimonies, and unbiasted news reports. unfortunately, our media does not usually think showing a soldier hugging a newly liberated child is as good of a story as one that got murdered.
