Well I'm learning smudging so i thought i would show you something to get some cool advices on how to improve my skills..Only smudging in this of course...
-
when smudging, try to not cover the whole canvas, but leave some portions black or white or whatever your bg color is
I'd say its a nice try

Well, since i can't make two posts per day I'll put this there, i'm still trying smudge , this time with a render, I'm not too satisfied yet, looks empty or unfinished i don't know, still need some advices =)
Thanks!

you need to blend the stock in and maybe mess around with the bg a little more but it looks like a good start...nice choice of render by the way. and i am not feeling the first sig(dream) bu gj on smudging

Ok I have tried to make the piece a little more interesting adding some more smudge and darkening some parts as Kyou said, I think it now looks fairly better, any other tips?
-
Try overlaying some textures on your smudging.

All right i've found some texturing tutorial
http://www.climb-x.com/forums/showthread.php?t=5448 (for example)
So, I've added a couple of textures to the smudge, added some lightning effect to add some depth (not sure it worked out too well..) and some tweaks and this is what i came up with:

Tips?Comments?
Thanks for all the help I think I'm improving or at least learning something new =)

Get rid of his electro-beating-stick. Change his colors or the sigs colors, cause he's got too much white on him and the sig has too much pure blue.
-
i like how you did your render just ye remove the stick and work on the bg.
