It's definitely a good first attempt "after a long time".

I like the glow effect. It may look better with a solid border instead of the 3 px overlay. (Just a suggestion)
The text looks blended well, but you should try a font with a little more.. whats the word... PIZAZZ! :P
The simplicity is nice, don't get me wrong, but something needs to be added to give the signature a little more personality.
