Thread: Large art

  1. #1

    Default Large art

Firstly, I'm sorry that I'm making a second thread in one day. I just feel that there's a difference between this catalogue of my work and the signature I posted earlier.

Secondly, I wrote all of the below writing a few months ago, so I've made more art since then, which I'll probably get around to posting some time -- but I'm too lazy right now.

I've been in the field of graphic design for nearly three years. I make everything without the use of brushes... All photos used are either stock or my own.
Here's the majority of all the art I've created over the past year or so.

This one's most recent. Started and finished on January 29, 2007. All stock from sxc.hu.

This one's also a bit recent. Started and finished on January 06, 2007. All stock from sxc.hu.

Started on May 29, 2005, further modified on September 22, 2006, finished on December 22, 2006. All stock sxc.hu

    Started October 08, 2006, finished October 27, 2006. All stock Sxc.Hu

    Started September 17, 2006, finished September 22, 2006. All stock from sxc.hu.

These are all of the forum signatures I've made since about January of 06 compiled into one pack. Stock courtesy of Sxc.Hu, various renders made in apophysis. (Note: #5 is a collaboration between me and an artist named Silenced).

I like your work, it's very original and love how you use stocks to compose entire pieces. Very good job

Are you at GFXdugout by any chance? I've seen sig #4 somewhere before. I'm firetap at GFXdugout.

Someone ripped my sig? ahahaha... That's kind of funny because I'm always telling people to rip it, jokingly.

    Can you supply a link?

I used to host those six signatures on DA (www.3rdtech.deviantart.com) as PSDs, so I can see why they were ripped.

Anyway, I'm not that upset with the rippage, but I'd still like to see who's doing it and making sure they aren't getting more praise for it than when I released the sig. It's probably my favorite sig by myself and everyone hated it at Sigsource when I made it.

But I guess that's just the consequence of not desiring to destroy sigs with annoying text on them.

    thanks for the update.

I never said someone ripped your sig, I said I've seen it before, and since you're Tim.Leary, then it's here that I've seen it

No need to be sorry, I didn't mean for it to come out harshly.

Wow, fantastic style. Looks very unique. I would be interested in some of your techniques (if they aren't top secret of course).

    i like the 2nd sig. i'm afraid that's about it :-(

Reason being.. 1 word.. ; Grunge.. I only like it if it's done REALY REALLY well, because i mean it's all that you see on DA, and i've been brainwahsed with it... boring generic grunge, and the ways people get most of their effects and outcomes are 99% of the time, just duplicating random layers and playing around with the blending options, add a bit of noise, and BLAM, you have a generic grunge peice that i have seen a million times before....

The painfull thing is though, is if you actually spend ages and do loads of diffrent things to get your outcome, because you can probably get the same effect in 20 secnds by playing around with/duplicating layers
