I want to create an open and closed forum at the same time, so closed section would be entirely for members-only and the open section would be for anyone who wishes to post. How should I do this?

Many forums allow you to create board only visible to certain groups. If you tell me what your forum is i.e vbulletin,invision,phpbb3 ect. I can help more.
