lol @ arrogant & unprofessional...
1) that is almost exactly what he did step by step forget what he says.. theres nothing to it.... i could do those 5 steps i mentioned and make something that looks exactly the same... (if not even better)
2) as i said before its my opinion... and i felt i had a duty to rule out in 'generically' terms what he is doing wrong.... if u cant take cnc then dont post ur work simple
...
plus thats about as professional as anyone can get if we are realistic.... do u think if u applied for a graphic design job with something like this the boss is gona be any less as forgiving?? no didnt think so... its a wake up call thats all.... if u cant swollow a bitter pill then dont asked to be cured in the first place... thats what i say..
throwing a hissy fit and acting all out of sync ...sheesh

For me, the signature is awesome.
I think, it will be better if you can give a proper and good text.

So we are supposed to take your word over the artists? I am hereby requesting a psd just to prove your wrong. You say it's a fact that he made it like that and you also claim that that fact is your opinion and that it's cnc. It's not, it's just you saying: I'm telling you this is what you've done and that's bad. If you can recreate that just by following the steps you mentioned then I'd be impressed.
I actually like it, it lacks flow but there's some nice effects, the right effect next to the focal draws my attention a bit too much tho.

Lollll throwing a fit? On the internet? What is this, I don't even-
Also fyi, graphic designing doesn't always depend on "skills". Its all about PUBLIC ART. Its all about creativity and ideas. L2researchbeformakingassumptions
Yeah, sure it was your opinion, but again, thats not the right way to critique. I shall repeat this AGAIN since it didn't quite sink into your head. You didn't provide a proper critique.
Bad Crit:
"I don't like it - It sucks - You can do better."
Good Crit:
"Even though I don't really like it its still a good effort. The text kinda sucks though so you should practice on that and I'm sure after reading some tutorials and practicing a bit you can be much better."
- Nutter.
Your critique basically illustrates the first example or maybe worse.
The fellow was asking for "cnc". CRITIQUE and COMMENT. Not, "Oh, what a generic signature. I'm just going to tell him that without suggesting things he could improve on."

lol u know what.... just to prove my point ...just for u hard heads that think i should go easy on him, ill waste my time openning photoshop just to prove that in no less than 5 layers and in under 5-10 minutes i can re-make a sig that looks exactly like this (aka same look and feel just different focal) ... further more illpost up the psd so u can count the 5 layers urself.... ill post it in here so u can compare the 2 also ok??
...and lol @ skill not being important.... dude not even a logical argument... smh if skill wasnt important we would all be calling a turd on the ground art <_<
edit:

edit heres the upload psd: http://www.megaupload.com/?d=VORAG7S0 only 5 rushed layers dude... not even trying
tbh mine looks even better... meaning he couldnt even do a simple n00b 5 step process proply.... that irritates me to no end >8(.... as i said before dude go read advance tuts...

It IS a logical argument. Go out to the super market and take a look at the packagings. Most of them are incredibly simple to do, and yet they still have a nice outcome. Its the outcome that matters, not the skill and techniques.
Now now, before attempting to sound smart again, you obviously did not read what I said before. I said that its all about creativity and ideas. A piece of turd has no elements of creativity at all.
Also, irritating you to no end? We all started off as beginners. Even you did. I don't quite understand your logic.

this isnt packaging this is a sig..... dude and if we are talking about serious graphic design in the industry we think of game packaging/artwork, movie artwork & web based graphic design... not a box of curly fries from McDez
and yes we all start off as n00bs true.... but i dont like seeing ppl stay as n00bs forever thats why i give slightly harsh critic to motivate them.... imagine everyone told u everytime u posted something ":0 thats awesome" ..u would start to believe that there is no where else from where ur current skill level is to go... ull procrastinate at the level ur at and not try yo excel because u are always being told your work is "awesome"... on the other hand if ppl tell u now and again "thats not good due to ....*fill in the blank*... reason(s).... try reading more advance tuts" then ull start to reason that maybe there is a level high than the 1 your currently at.... so it'll makes u want to look at furthering ur knowledge and strive for that next level... that why i told him go read advance tuts.. but sadly 1 of these so called "friendly site members" told him to stay reading baby tuts so he can stay stuck at square 1.... and will probably never achieve the gfx understanding he could have attained by now.... that person has held him back by tellng him his work is great.. when really it doesnt even border on a 5 minute job.... im sorry but thats not the kind of feed i give... i give perfectly sound feed... its just weak minded ppl cant always handle the truth while its staring them in the face.... even if it some of it was based on a slight rash assumption :\

Your feed was horrible dude.
You basically just said my sig was shit and you didn't really give me any sort of advice to help me improve.
Also most of your guesses at what I did were wrong.

and

You find those the same?

I did not tell him to read baby tuts, what you need to understand is that advanced tutorials are called advanced for a reason. They are written for people that are of moderate skill and are written by someone who assumes you possess a certain level of knowledge. You say that by telling him his work is not good, he'll get motivated to try harder. But if it isn't good then should he not try and improve his basics (flow/lighting/composition) before just jumping into advance tutorials?
