    i basically joined to get help with a photoshop problem :/

    but im only allowed to post here atm.

    when i try to open a .png image file in photoshop i get the message:
    "could not complete your request because the file-format module cannot parse the file"


    can anyone heko?

    Welcome. If you give the forum about half an hour, it'll grant you access to the rest of the board. This is because the forum updates itself every half hour or so.


    Not sure what the problem is there. =\

    What version Photoshop do you have and what Image are you trying to import? One possibility is that the image is corrupt and it's not loading cause there's a problem with the file.

    Does this happen with any other images?

    i'm running adobe photoshop cs5 extended.

    and it does the same for all png's
    it works with jpeg though.

    but i wanna use the png files i've downloaded from planetrenders

    hello new person, welcome to the void i found this same problem on adobe's website and here is what they said

    Try resetting your preferences as described in the FAQ.

    You either have to physically delete (or rename) the preference files or, if using the Alt, Ctrl, and Shift method, be sure that you get a confirmation dialog.

    This resets all settings in Photoshop to factory defaults.

    A complete uninstall/re-install will not affect the preferences and a corrupt file there may be causing the problem.

    i re-intsalled photoshop but it still wont install ;.;

    i downloaded a png image from google, which works. the ones i got from planetrenders however still get that message coming up.

    i figured out what it was xD

    well, Mr GFCDub did :P

    i wasnt getting to the image screen where it is just the render xD
    silly me!
