Personally this is just what I would do: lose the border, make it so his far side isn't displaced or doesn't have the look of tearing/fading away, add a few more subtle effects, and lose the text.

It's a nice looking tag with the faded colors and the effects coming off his eyes, just a bit too much going on and you should work on your text.
