    Default Goodbye, i guess

Well i guess im out of here, i cannot grow like this. I post things up for C&C and get feedback which is great but i get generic comments like "work on your effects" or "monotone" which i pretty much know what it means but no idea how to fix it. When I ask what should I do, I promptly get ignored, (not just on this site but many others as well). I haven't been doing this stuff long enough to be able to tell "oh effects, he must mean A,B, and C". Apparently tutorials aren't helping either because after following tutorials word for word i get comments like "1/10" "read better tutorials" and "why are you even doing this". So i guess there isn't much more i can do, without some sort of coaching i've hit a brick wall and therefore have no reason to come to a gfx site. Cya everyone I may pop in once in a while if my brain doesn't get in the way.

Well that's a Depressing Intro thread. Sorry to hear that man, best of luck to you on your artistic journey, I actually liked your style, I guess I will not get the chance to critique it now that you are leaving. It's too bad that a few posts from people you will never meet made you lose all hope in creating stuff for yourself, as long as you are happy with the end result you succeeded in making art. Sometimes you just gotta take the bad cnc with the good, and ask people's opinions of artists that you admire and respect to get specific cnc or good advice for what you do. it's not all good cnc in every post. Good Luck Tatsujin79 hope you get more help and pm me if you want a coach I can help you via AIM: XGDomino or via email: www.erikcuriel@yahoo.com

thank you domino, ive been talking to GFXDub on MSN and want to clear some things up, first it wasn't just a few posts from people, it was over 100 on about 5 sites, second it didnt kill my creativity or anything what it did was make me not want to post my stuff online for a while until i got the help i needed. This was a moment of frustration and i feel like a jack ass and really dumb for posting it, thank you to GFXDub for taking time out to talk to me and snap me out of it. If its ok, i would like to continue to come here and try to improve, just expect alot more pm's asking questions,

and running man, thanks for the vote of confidence.

If you're having trouble getting any advice on anything, just send one of the mods or admin an PM and they should be able to help.

On one of forums I'm signed up to I had a guy occasionally send me PMs for help and ideas and I usually replied back with some good tips for him. The trick is to find someone who is knowledgeable and able to help you, then you can use that person's experience to improve your own skills.

Well now I feel like an ass. We all have humble beginnings. I wouldn't dare show my first sig around here because it's insanely horrible. That a look at your pieces, what do YOU like and dislike about them? Don't just post it because the tutorial says it's done. Look at it and see if you really like it. Bad artists copy. Good artists steal.

well here is another eternal debate. its a matter of preferance as well isnt it? i mean i can make a sig or lg or whatever to my own tastes but it would get hammered by everyone else. so where is the line at? when does CnC stop being about critique and start being about "I dont like this, or that" I have never posted anything that i myself wasn't happy with.
