The reason why 5 is the max is because the image count also includes the smileys. Therefore 5x would max out the image count.

I put the max limit on because we had some people adding 5+ sigs and taking up way too much space.

I think it should be brought down to 2 images max. 3 at the very most. People's signatures shouldn't be five times longer than their actual post.
