Mmm, well basic is always nice. But only when it's executed "properly." You've got some nice start up pieces here. You need to work more on the core values of a decent signature.
Blending: Most common way to achieve decent blending without getting crazy is to just use Gradient maps.
Lighting: Various ways of doing this, Soft white brushes set on screen, White foreground gradient map, Lens flare.
Flow: Just try to make everything in the signature flow in one direction nice and fluently.
Depth: Best way of doing this is sharpening your focal point a bit and creating a Gaussian blur layer and setting it to about 1.0 magnitude and erasing the parts on your focal point. Basically you want the background blurred out a bit but not too much and the Focal point sharpened and crisp to bring attention to it. You can also play around with the High pass filter and set it on overlay and lower the opacity.
If you're really stuck read a few of the tutorials here, but add your own touches to them to keep them "basic."
