Since you're just asking about the smudge, I'll CnC you a bit on that.
When smudging, watching your flow is extremely important. Smudge can vary from almost nothing to holy sh*t, it depends on the outcome. I have to say, though, for your signature though the smudge itself looks good.. it looks a bit topaz'd. If you are using Topaz I suggest for you to stop, not only will it halt your creativity but when it is time for you to take on a project that requires skills.. you'll be stuck between a blade and a wall.
other than that, work on your smudging quality a bit so you won't see those brush stroke lines (See upper right side), an advice I can give you is; use smudge or blur to erase the stroke lines on 15% and 2-3px brush size.
