    Thanks for all the comments!

    I'm aware of some of the problems you guys mentioned, like the "floating" vines, the guy's shadow etc. I will look into that as I've been thinking what it is that makes it look strange. Also I was thinking of some kind of huge Zeus statue or something but that is simply too hard for me to do. :P I'm learning Cinema 4D so I can only do simpler models, not human figures.

    Instead of doing a figure you could maybe do a statue of a Pagan symbol. I would amuse you would want to stay within the Pagan/Roman area :P. I also feel this would be closer to your level.
