I think you're on to something quite conceptually strong there. It seems like the kind of logo that you'd remember, and it works without text nicely. Personally I wouldn't focus too much on typefaces. The logo itself should sell it. If I were you i'd focus on what kind of market you're aiming at and do plenty of research into your potential customer base. If you're serious about making a go of a clothing label you really need to come up with something unique but also something your target can relate to.
