As stated some sharpen in and around your focal would be cool, also if you could put a gray layer on soft light and burn and dodge some areas, (making the outter area darker) it would help focus the viewer back onto your center again and allowing you to keep your busy boarder without it being too distracting.
One more idea, you might also want to try a b/w gradent on lumi, really low like 7-14 just to help that sharpen/detail more)
this last idea is a really hard idea tho, might not work out so great once you do the gray layer
