I pin all my daily used programs at the start button, thats how I keep em clean and organized, would take longer to scroll through that plugin. As for my art maps I have them categorized almost like you at the map pinned at my activity field.

This program (http://qttabbar.sourceforge.net/) is really useful if you want to have several folders open at the same time. Instead of multiple windows it will organize them as tabs, just as in a web browser. Truly my most used program since it's just like a plugin for your explorer. Click with the scroll wheel on a map and it opens as a tab
