Now, I probably won't get into it all that much, but this is the thread to yack back and forth about it, either specifically or in general.

At this point, I want to point at that back in 2010 the Brits pretty much trashed the Canadians when it came to the Olympics. Don't believe me? Do some research. Not that I care myself, but a couple of things I am aware of with the the current Olympics being held in London is the apparent lack of interest and organization regarding the games. Oh and the weather, but anyways, it pisses rain everywhere, right?

One thing I did hear is that in order to fill the venues and have a so called full house for the games, over 10 000 tickets were actually given away, free, on the house. Yeap. Now that's kinda sad don't you think?

Not to mention the traffic and security issues. So, for those that do live in the UK , by all means, feel free to let us know how things are, or are not, working reagarding issues as such.

Also, feel free to chat about any of the sporting events that interest you, but keep it clean and on topic please.

I would like to add that I just caught the end of the opening ceromony and Paul McCartney's performance of "Hey Jude" was absolutley incredible and something I'm glad I didn't miss.

I generally don't watch the games but thought it-best to catch the opening ceremony, really stunning! Naturally there were a few things that could have been different ... like french being the first language, and I would have liked to see things like Doctor Who and Only fools making an appearance somewhere but ah well. Even Harry Potter only got touched on briefly.
Favourite part had to be Rowan Atkinson doing his little bit, wish there was a little bit of black adder in there aswell :3 Can't say as I thought much to Pauls voice though.
Overall a really great night and I would have loved to be there.

I personally find the games a bit boring. The opening ceremony was nice though.

But nah, only watch it really for wrestling (ex wrestler). And women volleyball, dat ass.

Is it wrong that I'm really starting to get into these games? xD I found out what the red button does earlier and now keep abusing it. Currently watching the sailing.

There are some 'sports' that I think shouldn't be there though =/ Like the air-rifle stuff yesterday... its just not something I would associate with the event.

Traffic is diabolical, I can hardly go anywhere without there being a road closed.
Weather's been mizzo the past couple of days also, seeing as we had days of 30C earlier in the week. Today we had lightning storms. (My neighbors house got hit. They're fine though)
