Prometheus ~
Final one tonight methinks, it's a bit large:
I think I'm starting to rather get the hang of this /flying/ smudging business.

Render looks to choppy next to the smudge.. It may just be me, try blending the render in a tad more m8. kiu

Not bad actually, well done dude.
The main issue I can see here is the lighting, it's well done and all, but pointing to the wrong place. the natural light on the render is at her face, not her right side shoulder. I tend to have issue with black and white smudges in general, because it's difficult to really show any sense of depth, your only means being the use of contrast. here I don't that has worked very well and it all looks rather flat to me.
Another thing is those splatter brushes, some of them work well, such as what looks like one by her hair. But then you've got some like the one above her belt which looks a little of. And on the left side bottom, there's some dark splatters which, in my opinion, don't particularly do anything but destroy the flow of your smudging.
In regards to the chopper render people have mentioned, try this:
Zoom in to really really close, and put your smudge tool on something like 15%. create a new layer and either apply the image and work on that, or select the use all layers option at the top toolbar. (I'm not sure of the exact name). Smudge gently, along the flow you've already built, working the render into the smudge. But careful you don't go overboard, blending in a smudge tag is difficult, and might take you a while to figure out, there's hundreds of ways to do it.
Keep it up though, you're definitely improving

^Great what I think is an abstract giftie from Distello^
