Haha you are definatly focusing on that character. Now I do like the 2nd one better... I see where you are coming from by "whiting it out" and you should work on bringing the color back

However, I see that when you blended his/her torso you kinda left the head alone. You should try and blend the head as well, perhaps with a couple overplayed or dodged C4Ds and a bit of smudging
