i like it a lot especially for your first try. the little lines around the bulb don't seem to flow with the thicker lines everywhere else but i'm not sure how you could fix that.

    Lol, nice try.

I don't know how I could help you, it's abstract at best; you can't really crit 2d art, as you would a 3d art (depth and shading), but even at that - there isn't anything in abstract that says that lighting, etc have to be on par with real lighting and shading as much as one might want it that way.

The coil thing in the bulb, that looks a bit rough in some spots m8.
Sorry to say, but the 'lighting' (aka yellow lines), is a dismal!

If you want better lighting, via the trendish vector way, you can try your hand at the polygonal tool or use the shape tool with 3 sides (have to do a bit of adjusting that way; thanks to Unit 43 for teaching me that lol) and make thicker rays of light.

Then you can play around with the layer blending if you wish, or just naturally tone down the rays opacity.

Oh, and did you create everything in the vector piece? Trying your best at being original by not using others' brushes and stuff is the way to go in the trendwhoring fashion of vectors! Incorporate as much originality and eye candy as possible, then you got the trendwhoring in vector art right, and you should be recognized!

Then that's when it becomes trendwhoring, or rather, trendwhored - when someone takes your ideas an implements them into their own, and the cycle continues

    Nice first try though! =)

    Weee someone liked it!

Those cloudy things are well supposed to be clouds..and the circle thing is the moon...The clouds are coming and taking over...The lightbulb was there for contrast..No real reason to put it in there. The lightnings coming out of the clouds...Sorta.

I get your idea on how to make it flow better, im new to i so i cant really do that so easily.
