A newbie neads help for a new forum...

I`ve got the mail from domeneshop.no, and they say 1000MB server/webhotel are max sixe. But I sent another mail asking them if they could consider make a bigger.

I have not yet found anyone who offer 5 GB.
So if you or someone else know some.. links would be nice..

Otherwise I guess we have to have several servers/webhotels.. à 1000MB

There's many sites. I have been running websites for about 3-4 years, and my favorite one yet is:

Now, what exactly is a 'webhotel'. I may be confused. And domene in English is spelled 'DOMAIN'.

I thought webhotel was an international description.. :blink: .. well it`s the same as an host I guess.

Lol not to nitpick, but the circumstances of the thread make this a good pun. Don't use an before host...you only use an before vowels or vowel sounds.

First off, you buy the domain and hosting. After that, purchase the hosting. Go into your domains cpanel and change, go into the nameserver section, then edit the nameservers to your hosts nameservers. Now, you may have to wait 2-3 days.

After awhile, your domain will resolve, and you should either see a directory or a temporary page. Log into your FTP, upload the files, and run the install file (usually either /install.php or /install).

actually taco.. they dont give invision 2.0.0 away anymore to new users... only people who had it before april of 2005 can get it again

You know.. that`s the hardest.. where to put "a" and "an"..

Since last time I was here I bought a vB forum in march
I got my domain (see TacoX.. I still remember..)
Also I went for the 1 GB host (norwegian company) www.domeneshop.com
and I got a 2 GB host (privat.. a friend of a friend owns it) may upgrade to 20 GB.

I`ve learned a lot during this months.. and with some friends I made my dream come true.. a scandinavian Sims 2 forum..
We opened for the public on july, 7. and already got 143 members..
Which make our forum the biggest Sims 2 forum in Norway :lol: not bad for a total newbie..
