With NN6+ (Netscape Navigator 6.0+) you can use the blink tags, there name tells you what they do, but in case you haven't caught on yet they make text on your page flash (sweet) the problem is that they only work for NN6+ at this time (Not tryed on Mozzia ForeFox)
Its like this::
Code:
<blink>Text Here</blink>
The <blink> tags wont show up if displayed in IE for anyother browser so you can have it there as a specal feature for NN users...

I don`t see this one in HTML 4.01 reference, so I don`t recommend to use them. Follow the standarts, not ignore them!

The Blink tag was from netscape back in the day, when browser teams started adding tags to try and get the edge over their competition. It was quickly elimanted when the W3C started actually taking charge of the situation. The blink tag is the single WORST tag in history, and it's very strongly recommended that you avoid it at all costs. Although most browsers supported it for a long time, it has gained a very bad reputation as being the most annoying thing you can add to a website.

I see we have some stong feelings here!
well the blink tag has only been arounf for just under a year, i have done some research on it and found that the reasion it only works with NN is because the NN browser was built with advance Javascript built in...
So these tags have not been out that long...
thats also why you wont find it in the HTML 4.01 reference, cause it hasn't been added yet! for the reasion that it only works with NN

...I have no idea where you got your information but it's completely wrong.
The blink tag was introduced by Netscape back in the 90's, most likely between 1996 and 1998. Around HTML 2.0-3.2 (it's hard to say exactly).
Wether or not Netscape was the first to support Javascript or not, I don't know. But I do know that the blink tag has as much to do with javascript as a ham sandwhich does. The blink tag is a browser-side effect, which has to be hard coded into the browser. Although you can make text blink with javascipt, the blink tag is in no way java related.
The most likely reason as to why Kavaacky's reference doesn't mention the blink tag, is because it's not an HTML tag at all. The W3C never approved it (which is why it doesn't work in IE...go figure IE would be standards complaint for once).
If you want to use the blink tag, go for it. But keep in mind that it's not standards complaint, and your audience may or may not have a browser which supports it.
