Default Moderation on the forums...

I understand that my posts have been deleted for coming across as rude / condescending. I would like to let you all know that the post I made, in meteor showdown, "I think they look cut and pasted" was not meant to be crude. Furthermore I want to apologize to KidBuu for anything that was taken the wrong way. I express my opinion of the piece. If it doesn't look good, I'm going to tell you, It's not that I think I'm a better artist but lying to you doesn't make you better. If people had told me what I wanted to hear all along I would never have made it to this point.

In addition, whichever moderator has a grudge against my posts needs to stop. If you want to contact me on aim or ICQ feel free to do so and I'll disucss any greivances you have, maturely. I was under the impression that by joining this site I would be able to express my opinions of art without needless censorship.

Any accusational replies to this message are unnecessary.

The way I see it this matter is closed... I look forward to seeing you all about the forums.

P.s. perhaps a better method of deleting posts would be the moderator editing the post and removing the text he sees fit, then leaving a reason. That's the way it worked on DutchDesignz and everyone got along perfectly there..

Fuck you.

No seriously
Yeah I get your point of view on this, people all have opinions, and their way of expressing them. Your remarks were nothing different, it all happens. Just when mods tell you that your posts are something wrong, just take it into consideration they do these things to try and keep everyone happy. It came across as rude to some people and so they contacted/deleted. Let's just all get along, and not let such petty fights ruin the good atmosphere of the void. Cool Helix? Cool. Its all good, just a bunch of misunderstanding.

Yeah, I don't have a problem when people delete my posts.. I do however, have a problem with moderators who delete posts without giving a reason or notification.. I've been on the receiving end of too many over-zealous moderators and didn't want it to happen again

That's my point too. It's petty bickering. Just respect the members and the staff here and it's all good. No one here is "over-zealous". However, we are Staff, and we all work hard here in one way or another to bring things, and people together, and we like to keep the peace in the community. That's just how we are. So be cool. Cool.

Helix I don't want you to feel like I'm trying to impress anything on you. I am very pretentious about the fact that some people just flat out do not know how to properly critique work. I've been a pretty obnoxious person when it comes to critique for years. I believe that honest and upfront critique is more helpful than sugar coating it just as much as the next guy. So PLEASE do not think of it as me trying to sugar coat anything you say.

I made a post regarding this in the introductions forum, and it outlines the method that would most appropriately fit the rules of the forum. DM is right, this forum is very laid back, and in the right form, you can be as harsh as you want. As long as you do it the right way.

"Personally, I think it's horrible. But there are some things I think might make it better..."

Sounds like a punch in the face, but the fact that you're making an effort to help the artist makes you sound much more tactful.

I hope we have not burned any bridges between the two of us, and I would hope that this conflict helps you become more in tune with the community. Thanks for your consideration, and hopefully this situation will help others have a better understanding of proper critique etiquette.

And just to note, your posts weren't deleted because they were rude. The admins have a way of trying to keep salty topics on a down low. So think of it as a protection of both parties' interests. In future, if you have a problem with something a member of the staff has said, a PM would be a much better choice.

One thing I want to say is Solar is completely correct to say that some times when posts are deleted/edited or whatever, it is usually done with the best interests of both/all parties involved. I've personally seen many forum brawls break out from not deleting/editing posts. No one wants things to become big issues, but this did. It's also a complete waste of peoples time.

Wow a lot of drama! lol

To be 100% honest it was me who deleted the posts. Just don't want that kinda stuff to spread, know what I mean?

I hope we all end being ok, and I hope no one reflects on this issue as negative. Only as a positive should we view this issue, since we all learned something from this experience.

Feel free to contact me. =) msn is hicks512n04@hotmail.com
