Digitally Painted Sphere

Thanks for the comments guys. I'm working on something else now, Took a huge step, so the next image may be a while. :)

What I did was use the Ellipse selection tool to create a circle. In that circle I started shading in around the outside with a brush setting. I then on a new layer started shading in a floor and wall area.

scrib looking for tablets? i would recommend wacom's XD
ah if you are going professional i would suggest wacom graphire or alternatively you can also go for bamboo fun, though bamboo tablets are smaller in size. or you can pay exhorbitant prize and buy intuos 4 :P, dont even think about cintiq, its just overpriced intuos with an lcd screen.
