Gameboy Advanced Vector ~Shiv~

All made from scratch. Really proud of myself for this one.:)
The lines could be a bit better but I like it.

it feels pretty flat. missing some shadows especially under the bottons and the r and l buttons and the sides of the gba. otherwise its a decent vector.

well if you could vector the entire gba i have a feeling you could vector the shading onto there. its not hard just more work.

nice dude get u shadows in to give it it's roundness and smooth out your lines but not bad at all m8 kiu

I took another look and this and felt why does he need the lines?
It would be better without then and if some of the edges where a bit smoothed out more and if you incorporated shadows this would be amazing.

Good point Dr. As for the shading, I'm not the next Pet or Rad, thats for sure lol, but ill try. :) Shading is confusing to me, need to work on that.

All the lines are choppy, are you using hard brush when you stroke? Soft brush leaves smoother lines. Yup shading is needed. I'm lazy when it comes to shading so I just take a soft brush and paint some shadows. Might not work on this piece since it's more realistic than my works.

Keep it up and hopefully you can get more smoother lines next time.

Not technically a vector; vexel is the word you're looking for. What program did you use to create it, and which tools did you use to create the lines? Looks almost as if you used the pencil tool..

Thanks Rad, I stroked with a hard brush, I'll try soft next time.:)

A Combo of the Lasso/Pen Tool. I don't know about all the terminology what It comes to making vectors, but since I used the Pen tool i thought i was a vector. Still improving on my pen tooling.

basically if it's a raster based image then it's a vexel, most of your basic photoshop and similar programs use raster images. vectors generally come from programs like illustrator, although you can technically make them in photoshop as well.

anyway, definitely try to use the pentool exclusively. stick to round circle brushes when making the stroke.
