    Default Waterfall Ceramic Relief

I made this in art class, and got it back today. It got into the art fair for the whole school system. Okay, that isn't an amazing accomplishment, but still.

Made with clay and those glazes which are like unpredictable to tell what color it's going to turn out when fire. Like, all it says on the jar is "Blue Lagoon (Light Blue)". Turned out well though IMO. The colors are a tad bit different after being photographed, but not too much, ex. the water had a bit more green in it.

That's quite nice it would look wicked with some normal painting over it for extra texture / detail, or something. Hah.

How long did it take to make?

    Thanks!
Uh......art class? It's your average everyday school 45 minute art class. And it's period 3 on C and D days.

Thanks! Thats a really good idea, but i like the shiny smoothness. Ooooooo shiny.

Hm... Lets see... I think for one class we looked at examples of landscapes, we finished the sketches for another, another class we started on the clay slab and basic shapes, then next 2 classes we finished off the details and let it dry for several days... then for two classes or so we did the underglaze then it was put in the kiln... and then we spent about two classes on the outerglaze. So thats... 123456789 9 classes... and we spend about 30 of each class working... 30*9 is 270.... and 270/60 is 4 1/2! So about 4 and a half hours give or take.

I'm in middle school, so it's just called art class. It's a mix of everything, we do pastels, ceramics, prints, painting, cartoons, etc. I think you can pick more specific art classes in high school.

Awesome work. Mind if I eat it?
I always loved making art like that, but I'm not cool enough to get back into it.

I don't mind, but I don't think it'll be very tasty. Its made of clay and is hard as a rock you know.

You're definately cool enough! Not sure if you are cool enough to get a kiln though, that might be difficult.
