When I say composition, I refer to your sig in its entirety, like for instance, a person's compo can be good if it has good flow, consistent posture and effects and sweet lighting, where it can be bad if it has abrupt flow, chaotic effects and clashing elements and bad lighting. See what I mean? So in your case your compo isn't bad the smudge needs to be consistent, also watch out for your blending and color and contrast. Thats what I meant by composition.

Get all of your elements placed in a way that makes them work together. As it stands now, the way you have things flowing is kind of all over. You have the smudge on the left, which flows nicely on its own. The flow of the stock, again good on its own, and then you have that area to the right there, which is a little all over the place. (Particularly in the bottom right.)

Here, the red is where your flow is pointing to. The way you have things positioned directions the eyes across the canvas. I'd almost always recommend just keeping your elements tight on the canvas, to help them play off of each other, and work with your flow. This holds especially true for a smudge type tag, which relies heavy on flow.

Colors are nice, smudging is nice, could just use a little more to it, feels a little plain to me.

Mmmk.... now i smudged out the area that the flow seemed to be going around from what you said and added some stuff to make it feel not so plain

much nicer, but when i look back your colors were best in v1 imo. Im guessing when you added more layers you set them to lighten and it bleached out the darker parts of the signature.

An easy way of bringing back color from a previous version is just to apply image of the previous version, drag it to the top of the layers and set it to color. Then just erase parts that don't look right.
This or just tweak it more with adjustment layers imo.

Heh, now it looks like little explosion trails. Cool.
Quite an improvement on this one, if you ask me.

Its hard to bring back those colors because i did some much stuff to the original and if i bring it back up all the layers get messed up.. and it looks better in v4 than it would in v1
