It took 3 layers. I drew the top of his eye lid for the first one. Then drew half of his lid for the 2nd and the whole lid for the 3rd. Then i just put them in order from 1-2-3-3-2-1 to make the effect of his eye closing then opening again.

It wasn't as simple as putting them in order with this sig because he moves up and down as he breathes so i had to move each layer up and down in relation to where his eye was at the time.
