Use a border pls. Lighting on render should, where the light explosion is, be lighter.

    Nice colors

I agree, I normally don't use borders either but it would look good.

Not a HUGE fan of some stuff. I like your current tons though :P

Some areas feel too sharp and are clearly getting way pixelated.

It also kinda just feels like you took the same C4D and went :

Transform, move. Copy, paste, move, shrink, gaussian blur. Copy, paste, move, shrink, sharpen. And did that like 5 times and said "yeah looks good". I mean the render is blended, but only because there's a bunch of c4d's on him. I like to see more of someone's -own- efforts put into a tag.

Also, light source is behind and to the left of him, but his face is lit from the front. It looks okay to the eye, but to someone who's drawn/painted for a long time, it looks wonky. Finally, some of the sparkley dots look weird because they're just sort of transparent. Particularly the one in the top right. I think it's best to have them smaller but still bright rather than semi-transparent, because it looks very fake and digital.

It's a great tag, I just like to try and give a lot of CC to help.
