O_o God damn I could do with that now, saves spending ages learning the clutch and gearbox on a manual.
Feels so good getting it right though xD

They're quite a bit easier to drive. Just gas, brake, and steering.

Do they not cost an exceptional amount more if you ever go to replace the gearbox though?

    Automatics are for pussies. lool

Anyway, the transmissions are only a little more expensive, but they usually last longer than a manual since all the gear changes are smooth and at the right rpm since its all automatic lol.

Tbh I wouldn't mind passing the manual test and just buying an auto. As far as I know passing the manual test allows you to also drive an automatic.

I'm from FL, like OGbyDesign, and didn't have to put time into getting my permit back in the day, just took the test and on the road i went.

to answer your question, no i don't worry aboutwhat i'm doing next. Been driving since i was 14 (just down the street and stuff like that) so that's ~10yrs, it just becomes 2nd nature. I have been in accident(s) but only 1 was my fault and it was a tiny tap, and no tickts (knocks on wood!)

Just be mindful of other people and hopefully your car driving goes as well as mine has.

Been driving an 05 corolla for almost 8 years now =X

nahh Im more concerned about what the kms were used for, which is what we'll find out when we go to look at it. I mean I would drive back and forth and hour everyday, driven across canada etc. that racks up the usage but isnt too hurtful.

like I said before though, if its rust=no go.

Automatics are a bit more than manual, about 1000 to 2000 US. Replacement is reasonable if you find the right mechanic. Do not go to the dealer, they will rip you off.

Automatic is definitely not for pussies. As a guy who knows how to drive both manual and auto, I would choose Auto as a everyday driver. If I'm storming down a B Road then I would want a Manual, but if im sitting in traffic, I dont want to be rowing through 5 gears just to move.

And that's why you're a pussy, haha. I always just used to throw it into neutral before coming to a stop, like a baws. You're not supposed to because blah blah safety you might need to move in a hurry so it should always stay in gear, but fuck that I'm not gonna hold the clutch in all day because of traffic lol. I'll give that shit 15-20sec tops, ha. As for gears, highly doubt you're gonna make it outta 2nd-3rd if you're in heavy traffic.

I still prefer a manual to auto, the only prob I had with manual is when I would buy a fountain drink and didn't have cup holders to hold it so I had to switch the drink to my left hand while shifting, temporarily taking both hands off the wheel, then quickly switch the drink back to my right hand after each shift, lol. That's how the pros do it shiv, take notes, lololol

I've only ever been in an auto once before, both have their advantages and disadvantages I guess. The disadvantage of an auto, ignoring the cost of repairs is that its generally slower to make up its mind. If I'm moseying along and some fag pulls out of nowhere I'd much prefer to have that control of switching down a few gears without waiting for it to make up its mind.

Gears are a huge pain though xD At the moment I'm doing fairly well with them but still a bit slow off the mark when switching (around 4-5 seconds) leaving the car on the clutch giving it no control.

The handbrake is also a pain xD I always seem to forget about it and wonder why I'm not moving.
